Two months into my bearding adventure begins a whole new adventure in itself, an adventure that we are all going on together, that adventure is the start of my facial hair product review series.
I am going to start the series with none other than a review of the Woodsman scent collection provided by The Bearded Bastard. This collection includes a 1 oz. bottle of Woodsman scent beard oil and a 1 oz. tin of Woodsman scent mustache wax.
First When I opened this package (which included very timely delivery) I could not help to be impressed by the aesthetic value of this product. The labels on both products were made out of wood, with the scent name etched into them. There's no way you won't stop and admire the effort put into this product.
The Woodsman scent is wonderful. A great odor, one that tacked on a few man points for anyone who had this smell lingering around them. To put it in perspective, imagine that smell that infiltrates your nose when going to pick out that perfect Christmas tree ... that's the smell. It was great to get a whiff of that randomly throughout the day.
Ok, Lets get down to the good stuff, how it worked. Being the first oil I have used on my new beard, I was excited to see how much it would improve my beard. Boy, did the quality of my beard skyrocket. After using this product every day for a week, my beard became leaps and bounds softer. It was easier to comb and I will say fullness increased drastically.
Not to be outdone by the great handlebar mustache of the owner of my local coffee shop, I used the wax everyday that same week. The wax was hard and a bit tough to get out of the tin, and evenly distributed into my mustache. It did get the job done. I noticed the hair breaking the mold a bit as the day went on, but a quick twist of the ends put it right back to place. If you were going for a very defined mustache, it would probably be best to apply the wax repeatedly throughout the day.
I would tell you how to properly use the wax, but I figured why not let the Bastard himself show you so here is the mustache wax tutorial: How to Apply Mustache Wax. As for the beard oil, all you need to do is put a dime sized amount in your hand, rub your hands together, apply to every inch of your beard then use your fingertips to massage into your skin.
With competitive prices, $20 for the beard oil, and $14 for the wax, I would recommend The Bearded Bastard products to any of my furry friends.
