RANDOMNESS FROM ME TO YOU

You guys are badass. Yes. Badass. All of you who visit SocialClub19.com on a regular basis are mucho appreciated. It is crazy that a little over 2 years ago I launched Social Club 19 as an experiment. The last thing the internet was in need of was another fashion/style blog. I just knew I wanted to create a space where I could share my industry experience, and have some fun.

It has been a crazy 2 years, but 2013 was the "let's attempt to pull it together" phase. With more people peeping out Social Club 19, that meant the more emails I get about my editing. I also got emails about how much they liked a style guide and wanted more. I love it all because that means you guys are hanging around Social Club 19. Could I ask for anything more? Plus keeping me accountable is not always a bad thing.

When I started this space, I knew I wanted to show some diversity in men's styling options. Mix it up a bit for the gents. More important was highlighting what brands are emerging from the city I love, Indy aka Indianapolis. 2013 was about searching out these brands and highlighting the ones I dig, but also style Indy product with national brands. Connecting with the passionate small business owner, has only fueled my passion for creating a space to highlight their work.

The past year Social Club 19 has grown, and has been able to be more active in the local group of awesome. The most favorite thing Social Club 19 was a supporter of was Pattern's Bindery project. Social Club 19 and many other brands around Indy are all about collaboration. I think it is because people realized that trying to compete in our market was just not going to work. A solid group of industry leaders have emerged to create some exciting projects around the city, in hopes of establishing a lagit place in the city's culture. The Bindery was a test to see if Indy's design/creative community could support a coworking design space.

I have to mention that 2013 was also the year that more fashion related news got some attention. The Indianapolis Star had some good ones, and it was nice to see some of their faces at the fashion events. Speaking of events.

Enough at the blah blah blah of 2013. 2014 is staring off promising already for Social Club 19. I hope to keep Kris Clason around to contribute his perspective on men's style. I also hope to find other men around who want to share their style thoughts. I am also starting off 2014 by visiting the Bob and Tom studios to record a podcast with Chick McGee. If I don't sound like a fool, it could be a great fresh audience for the site. Fingers crossed.

In January I am launching the Social Club 19 YouTube channel, you won't want to miss that train wreck. It too is starting off as an experiment to see what happens. You can Subscribe at YouTube.com/SocialClub19. I will be uploading videos weekly about fashion, style, travel, and random other bits I find around the web. Please check it out and share it with your friends.

There is more to come too, but really I just wanted to say THANK YOU for visiting Social Club 19. Please feel free to share your opinion and thoughts either in the comments, email, or follow me on Twitter @_Jeremiah_.

See you in January, as I continue my end of December break from Social Club 19. Hope you join our adventure in 2014.

Jeremiah
