WHO DOESN'T WANT SOME ZELMA ROSE

 I do appreciate a good bow tie. All modern men should be actively practicing to achieve a well tied bow tie. There are great bow tie options for men, but I haven't found a good casual bow tie. Then I was introduced to Zelma Rose.

I only choose product to review based on if it is something I would recommend to one of my friends.

Upon opening the USPS bag, I found two brown boxes tied with leather strapping. I appreciate brands who understand the importance of packaging to their product and branding. I highly recommend checking out the Zelma Rose "about me" section. It will give you a better idea of the brand and what to expect.


Zelma Rose was started by Lisa Anderson Shaffer in 2010, and recently included bow ties and pocket squares to the collection. I received a yellow and gray patterned bow tie, and a curious mixed shades of blue bow tie. I automatically started thinking about where to wear them. My favorite casual look involves a vest, button down shirt, jean jacket, bow tie, and pocket square. The problem is that often the standard bow tie looks a little out of place with the range of fabric weights.

The two Zelma Rose ties I received were made out of sturdy material. I was happy that the next time I go out for an evening of cocktails and socializing that my tie will hopefully hold up. I will be sure to let your know if you follow me on Twitter. Although the ties are a heavier weight, they would look great with a denim jacket or a suit jacket. I really like some of the "vintage" style patterns that Zelma Rose offers in the bow tie selection. They have a  hint of vintage with a bold enough look to be modern.

The bow ties I received are not adjustable or pre-tied. They do offer a range of options for your bow ties. Not only can you get them pre-tied, but you can also choose to have a short (25 letter or less) custom fabric tag included on the band of the tie. Works nice as a gift too. Plus you won't have to do much wrapping. Even when I received the product, it had a nice presentation. I am a geek for the details and love that Zelma Rose includes a fabric swatch on the outside of the box. This makes it so much better when storing.

Zelma Rose has a saying that is included in each box, "We have love in our hearts for you." After testing out the tie and planning a look for Friday's socializing, I think it is safe to say that Zelma Rose, "I have love in my heart for your bow ties.
