FALL 2013 MENSWEAR FASHION SHOWS PART 1

The Fall 2013 shows have started. What are the looks that caught our eye so far for men? we give you the run down of some of the first shows to kick off the weeks of fashion from London, Milan, to New York. We can't wait to see what else comes down the runway these upcoming weeks.

It seems everyone always loves the McQueen collections. Although this is our least favorite, and feel many people will be talking more about the creepy yet intriguing masks worn by some of the models, you have to appreciate the detail in the garments.

The Fall 2013 collection is full of rich fabrics with a focus on use of color. Menswear garments are hard enough to construct let alone the "patchwork" that was done in a couple of the looks walking down the runway, in black and red tones.

There isn't much change to any of the fit of menswear, but you will notice the continued raise of the inseam of pant. That's right gentleman you you won't be able to get away with wearing athletic socks with your suiting any longer. Time to get your hands on some fashionable socks that match. That right guys MATCHING SOCKS is the key to Fall 2013 styling. View full collection at Style.com.

Andrea Pompilio

Not going to lie. First thought that came to mind when reviewing the collection was Cirque du Soleil. The collection is very quirky and one of our favorites so far. Pompilio used a color pallet full of color to brighten the normal fall color combinations. Paired with the bold colors are layers of patterns.

The collection is everything fun and begging to be worn to a soiree with other artists and creative producers over cocktails. The looks are not looks that are going to be worn anyplace boring that is for sure.

The major things to take away from the collection is color and style accents in the details. Like many of the looks, the inseam shows off the ankle once again. So gentleman make sure you stock up on some good colored socks.

Although we do not think we will see a bunch of silk scarves on the streets of Indianapolis, pocket scarfs are something for you to embrace. They can be worn with anything with a check pocket. Think outside the box when stuffing your pocket. View full collection at style.com.

Christopher Shannon

There is something intriguing about Shannon's streetwear inspired collection. He has taken color blocking to a unique level. The colors pallet is pretty basic, but the way the colors are used creates a dynamic aesthetic.

The whole patchwork of pieces in different colors and textures is something seen repeated a few times on the runways of London and Milan. We don't see the pants making a debut in Indianapolis coming next Fall, the jacket is something that is very doable.

A busy color blocked look is hard to pull off for everyday wear, but expect to see a lot of this blocking in casual button front shirts and jackets.

The rest of the collection has the standard menswear pieces but done in great color blocks. You can see the full collection at style.com

Hardy Amies

A fantastic collection for Midwest men is the Amies Fall collection. It incorporates all the key trends in a non-exaggerated style. The style is something that you could wear without looking like you are trying too hard.

Our favorite piece from the collection is a 3 piece suit that is perfectly styled. The suit fabric has a smaller subtle pattern that adds a level of texture to the standard suit. A smaller repeating pattern can often add just as much dynamic as a big bright pattern. A guy can't really be taken seriously in a business presentation wearing a polka dot suit in emerald green.

The style points to notice are the lapel accent and the baggage. Many guys are lucky enough to get a pocket square in the jacket, let alone a lapel accent. A lapel accent provides more of a style element than cuff-links. I know cue the gasps from the conservative accountants.

Gentleman stop carrying your Nike duffle bag to work, and go with something a little more work appropriate. You can view the full collection at style.com.

Shaun Samson

Social Club 19 loves streetwear. We adore streetwear! Samson's collection took a little bit of a high-end twist to a young street look. It is an interesting look at streetwear.

It is a fine line between homeless teen and a London interpretation of  street clothing. There isn't much of a huge impression of anything fashion forward, but again it is a look that offers some styling Fall trends.

The collection contains a range of pieces that highlight graphics, layers, and again color blocking. There is this cape thing that is slowing making more of an impression in everyday menswear looks.

Just soak up the great take on streetwear. You can view full collection at style.com

Sibling

Not normally a big fan of large knits, but Sibling has changed our mind for Fall 2013. Sibling has made knits fun and ready for the street. The over sized look is a look that will get attention on the street, but also keep you warm.

There is nothing major as far as cut and style to the collections, but THEY MAD KNITS FUN and YOUNG. Which is a challenge. The first thing many people think of when it comes to knits is grandma sitting in her rocker making her favorite grandson a scarf. The full collection can be seen at style.com
