SKIN REHAB: 4 BATHROOM ESSENTIALS

After months of using a range of bath and skin care products for men, we finally found a collection that was worthy of sharing with our readers. It is not too soon to start thinking about how to get your skin ready for warm weather. We have tried a range of products that are marketed towards men. Many  of the products left our skin feeling good for a couple of days, but then nothing. Other products left us leaving the bathroom smelling like a bottle of cologne. We came across a product, that after a week still leaves skin feeling fresh, smooth, and kissable. 

We found our recommendation for bathroom essentials at a store that is a favorite among the ladies, but has a great men's line. Executive Editor, Jeremiah Williams, was introduced to the men's collection while writing a story for Indianapolis Monthly. We purchased some products and also received some products courtesy of Lush. We found 5 key essentials that guys need in the bathroom.

[1] SANDSTONE

Finally! A soap that you wash with that actually makes you feel like you are cleaning your body. A lot of men's products we found were in the form of a "body wash". Not that we are hating on the body wash products, but unless you use a big puffy washing tool it doesn't feel like you are getting clean.

Sandstone is a bar that is some exfoliating goodness. Guys don't get weird about exfoliating. Exfoliating helps clean away dead skin, and makes the skin feel fresh and so clean. The bar is filled with sand bits that will make you feel like you are on a tropical retreat. Some washes have those little balls that just wash off skin. Sandstone has sand that will leave you skin feeling rejuvenated. Don't expect to leave shower smelling like a teenage boy or your grandpa's cologne.

[2] COALFACE CLEANSER

Cleaning face is sometimes made to be a complicated experience that involves fancy bottles and chemicals. NOT TRUE. Some face cleansers that were tried often left a residue or made skin dried out. Not the goal. This brick of soap is good for most skin types. A product best used every other day, with slightly exfoliating action that will leave a guys face ready for a kiss.

There is nothing fancy about the packaging or the smell of this product. Instead you get a straight forward face cleanse, that will leave your face ready for the day. It is important to have a routine in place now to get ready for the warm weather months, when more skin is showing.  

[3] DIRTY SHAVING CREAM
Sometimes shaving cream has to much of a burn for many sensitive skins. Yes guys can have sensitive skin too. Plus the strong smells often associated with shaving cream is a little overpowering. Not everyone you hug or kiss after shaving, want to smell like shaving cream. Lush's shave cream doesn't lather and gives a great smooth shave with almost any razor. Not to mention that there isn't that annoying burning feeling, or clumps of shaving foam just falling off your face. 

We liked how easy and compact the product was for traveling or for storing in the bathroom. It's easy to use, and the only thing to deal with is expecting the product to foam up. It keeps the face smooth and ready for the kisses. We had no issue with ingrown hairs or slipping of any type of razor. 

[4] COSMETIC LAD MOISTURIZER

Remember the lessons dad told you about putting on after shave. Yea that green stuff that burns like hell when you put in on your face. Ditch the musky smelling green stuff and try out this soothing moisturizing creme. Don't worry about the ladies hating on your skin care products. They will just be jealous that you smell so good. Not to mention having smooth skin without the feeling of razor burn. Nothing is worse than razor burn in the winter. Pretty self explanatory on how to use the product. Shave and then rub in this moisturizer. Use the product with the shave creme for a week and you will be happy there is no more burning on your face. Shaving feels good again!

To be honest there were some products that we tried and liked or didn't, but wanted to keep it to the basics. There is an amazing Lush Seaweed Fresh Face Mask that is fantastic for your face... don't worry we won't tell anyone that you tried it. There were also some products that we didn't understand. There is a jelly soap that Lush has that smells amazing but impossible to keep in hand in shower. Talk about a product you can't take to the locker-room with you. However the smell is amazing, and if the smell came in a bar soap we would be all over it. Check out the LUSH website, for the range of products.
