A hot trend right now are subscription box services. Each month you are delivered a box of goodies to your door. The boxes are curated to introduce you to new products or supply some of your favorites. Citybox is a unique option for urban explores who like to discover and experience their city. Citybox is launching in Indianapolis. City Box is accepting orders of their Beta box, that will ship late June. They plan to offer 3, 6, &12 month subscription in the future.
Most importantly, what could be in the Indy specific box? There are questions when signing up for Citybox that will help customize your unique box, but there will also be some universal items in every box. Jennifer Edwards and Jan Ranade, Citybox Co-Founders, told me:
Citybox will be a mix of items you can enjoy then and there (treats, snacks, home goods, fashion wares, beauty products) as well as vouchers for experiences (a free appetizer at XYZ, or $10 giftcard to XYZ, tickets). Additionally, we hope to have some exclusive Citybox events in the future (behind the scenes tours, etc.).You might already be signed up for a subscription service already, but Citybox is unique that it focuses on local products and services. This means that even if you have lived in Indy for a while, you might just find something exciting about your city that you didn't know about. Citybox told me that they are looking at curating a special "holiday" box that can be shipped anywhere with treats and items that can be enjoyed right away. This is perfect for people who might have moved away from Indy, and would like to be surprised with some new local treats. It is exciting that Indianapolis is going to be the first to test out Citybox.
