A REVIEW OF THE MICRO TOUCH ONE CLASSIC RAZOR

There are times that I do product reviews. I try not to make it happen to often, but occasionally curiosity strikes. There are times that I review products that make it to the permanent shelf in the bathroom. This past week I reviewed the Micro Touch One classic razor. (Micro Touch provided the product for the review.)

I would consider it a entry level straight razor, but a pretty solid option. I have ditched my 5-blade and 3-blade razors, and made the switch. Don't trash your current multiple blade razors. You will need them for any body hair maintenance lower than your neck. I am not sure I would trust a straight blade for those areas.

The Micro Touch One classic razor comes in a plastic cube. Inside was the razor, stand, and two packs of razor blades. I have never used a straight razor myself, so I was a little worried that the bathroom would look like a blood bath when I got finished. It does take some getting used to, in comparison to a throwaway multiple blade razor.

To load the blade is pretty simple. You unscrew the handle and the head opens up. You drop in your blade, and you are ready to shave. I don't have the fancy brush and foaming shaving cream. (I use my favorite Lush shaving products.) I think I might need to get one if I am permanently making the change to the world of classic razor hair maintenance.

It took a few tries to figure out how much pressure to use and get used to not slicing your face. For the record I didn't cut myself at all, so that was a success. Plus the Micro Touch One looks good on the sink. I look way more fancy than I am sometimes. The razor is easy to clean too. Which is a major pain when hair gets stuck between a multiple blade razor. To clean the razor you just unscrew the bottom, and run water over the blade. Easy.

In full disclosure I haven't compared this razor to a more expensive level classic razor. The Micro Touch One did give me a good shave, and a clean line when shaving around facial hair. Both a bonus, when I have many times messed up my beard line with my old razor.

The Micro Touch One classic razor can be purchased in stores or online. It reatails for only $19.99, but if you purchase online you get an extra pack of razors. It is a razor that I would recommend if you have never used a classic razor. Next week, I will be sharing my review of a couple other hair maintenance products from Micro Touch.
