Good food and drink has a great story to tell with the source and mix of the flavors and ingredients. Michael Gray, Manager of Plat 99 and Mixologist, and Ed Sawyer, Sous Chef, threw down some interesting information about each item on the menu. In general the new items are "get in my tummy" good. The menu is perfect to eat outside on the Plat 99 terrace, and even better to share the signature plates with friends. The overall presentation of the plates mirror the stylish lounge.

SC19 Lite Dinner
Chilled Crab + Braised Pork Belly Slider + Bermuda Bazil Fizz is our favorite lite dinner combo. This tasty treat combo is light and refreshing while still filling you up. Not to mention the Bermuda Bazil Fizz is probably our new favorite summer drink. Sorry Mimosa. Often people only think great full flavored drinks are offered at Plat 99. Ed Sawyer, Sous Chef, wants to bring a focus onto the food too. They do compliment each other very nicely.
The Chilled Crab is a citrus, greek yogurt, dill, peppadew mix of amazing. Men in suiting beware, the cone can drip a bit of the mix on your lap. Don't worry about it tasting too "seafood like", the citrus and peppadew flavors create a nice balance of flavor. Next up is the Braised Pork Belly Slider. Thick pieces of pork, stone fruit chutney, and crisp red onions make these sliders very filling. You get juicy bits of pork that are not drowned in an overpowering sauce. Not to mention the subtle crunch of the red onions. Wash it down with Sian Sanchez's Bermuda Basil Fizz.
SC19 Plat 99 Dinner
Indiana Tomato Salad is pure summer. The bonus is the house made mozzarella, basil, and cava vinaigrette. There is nothing better in life than house made mozzarella. Surprisingly the Banh Mi duck pate is filling with a kick of spice. Duck pate, pickled vegetables, spicy aioli, and cilantro isn't normally on our radar because of the pate. Clearly we have missed out on some amazing. Wash it down with A Sticky Situation. The garnish is bacon. The highlight of the drink are the flavors of shagbark history syrup, peaches, and hickory foam. Then there is the bacon garnish. You win Michael Gray for this creation.
The Dessert That Will Change Your Life
Then the clouds opened up and there might of even been a choir singing as Ed Sawyer brought over the Cookies and Milk dessert. Just image an airy chocolate piece of heaven with bits of salty garnish. If you like your panna cotta a little bit more with a flare of Italy, order the Olive Oil Cake with fruit compote as a dessert addition.
This is a light dessert that will not leave you feeling with a sugar and sweet overload. You will probably close your eyes when eating it off the small spoon, it is complete acceptable to savor the panna cotta.
If you go for nothing else, this must be on your list.
Maybe you just want to drink your dessert. Treat yourself to a Sloe Gin Fizz. It is the only place in Indy where you can get this kind of Sloe Gin Fizz. Clean, refreshing, and sweet.
