THE NEW BUSINESS CASUAL

If you have ever worked in an office or had some kind of sales position, you have had the dream moment of smashing the printer fax combo to pieces. Social Club 19 wants to do the same thing to pleated dockers and company embroidered polos.

Fax machines are old school and so is the fashions of business casual. There is a new business casual, so gentleman you better take note.

The personal image you portray at those events where the dress is business casual affects the impression you leave. Social Club 19 has put together a perfect summer look for the new business casual, check it out after the jump.

A companies emphasis on branding is just as important as a personal emphasis on image. The days of business men putting on their freshly starched dockers and company polo isn't cutting. Social media has made the occasional hotel conference room meet and greet old school. Now it is all about creating quality social events to entertain and make the sales speech more social and conversational. This means you have to put your best self forward. Lets face it, you will be judged based on the cover. To give you gents a solid start, Social Club 19 has put together a style guide that our Executive Editor calls his favorite so far.

DENIM: The foundation of the look is a sleek dark denim. I originally was going to use my go to dark denim from Express, but have recently found a contender for my favorite. Big Star is the denim I picked. They recently sent me a pair to try. I am still breaking them in and haven't washed them yet, but I love the feel and look of them. (A full review will be coming soon) Guys you should try them out Nordstrom and Von Maur sell them locally. You want a solid dark straight leg denim. Stay away from the style that are light and have a lot of wash and detail fading on them.

BUTTON FRONT SHIRT: Leave your regular white dress shirt at home. You are not doing TPS reports you are socializing and connecting with people. You will want what is referred to sometimes as a "sports shirt". Social Club 19 likes the custom-fit washed chambrey shirt sold by Ralph Lauren.  It comes in a few colors but the top pick is the pink shirt. Pink is actually a perfect color for social events because the color encourages interaction and a welcoming feeling in others. Don't be afraid of wearing a bold colored shirt. When you add the top layer the color won't seem as striking and bold.

TOP LAYER: Guys you have a few options to get closer to finishing the look. You can go for a Sports coat, which is different from a suit jacket, or a linen vest for this look. Social Club 19 found two great options from Brooks Brothers. The Fitzgerald Fit Soft Cotton sport coat comes in two great colors for Summer. The jacket comes in a khaki and green color. The khaki is a safe choice, but the green is such a trendy choice.

If you aren't a blazer type of guy, Brooks Brothers has a five button linen vest. The dark blue color is a perfect compliment to the pink shirt.

TIE: Petaluma Supply Co. is a company that has some really cool product for guys. A tie Social Club 19 found was the "Forage" neck tie. The ties are hand crafted in Brooklyn, NY and each are a limited edition. The stripe tie is perfect to add some pattern to your look without settling for another paisley tie. The ties also come in a bow tie version as well. Normally not a fan of white ties, but this tie's rustic look add a level of cool to the outfit.

DETAILS: Next comes three very important details to finish off the look. The shoes, bag and accent detail. The top shoe of the list for guys is the Burlington Hemp shoe from Bass Shoes. The shades of brown in the shoe play off well with the dark denim and adds some depth to the top layers choices given. Remember use some powder in your shoe and forget the socks for a boost in trend level.

Next don't just bring any work bag, go with a leather bag. The detail of your choices will bode well for leaving a good impression. Nordstrom has a Mullholland 'Safari' leather bag that is perfect to carry all your networking supplies.

The last detail is for the advanced stylish man. A great trend getting more and more noticed is the lapel accessory. Granted many are probably turned off from the random accents Randy Jackson from "American Idol" wore. The subtle detail of a flower in the lapel is a great way to accent your summer look. You could always go with a graphic pocket square if you choose not to accent your lapel, but don't over do it.
